An appetizer that is guaranteed to surprise your guests. Delicious and easy to prepare.
Ingredients (for 4 persons)
- 1 bunch broccoli, cut into florets
- 100 gr. sliced bacon, cut in half
- 25 gr. chopped blanched almonds
- 2 tbs Balsamic vinegar
- 1 tbs honey
- 5 tbs extra vergine olive oil
- salt & pepper
Preparation
- Boil the broccioli in slightly salted water to cover until crisp-tender, about 8 minutes. Then rinse under cold water, so as to keep the green colour. Drain carefully.
- Roast the chopped almonds in a dry frying pan till golden brown.
- Preheat the oven grill to the highest setting.
- Wrap the florets in the bacon and secure each bundle with a toothpick. Place them on a baking tray covered with baking paper. Bake under a hot grill till the bacon is crisp (approximately 5-7 minutes), turning once.
- For the dressing, mix the vinegar, honey and salt & pepper to taste. Add the olive oil slowly, while continuing to whisk.
- Serve the bacon packets in a big dish with the almonds and the dressing on top.
